17 New SC.Net Members Join “Hands in Hands” in Forging Close and Mutual Trust Relationships to Promote Social Capital Development in Hong Kong
SC.Net Biennial Gathering and Appointment Ceremony 2016 was successfully held on 1 March 2016. Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, Secretary for Labour and Welfare welcomed 17 new members from different sectors and presented the appointment certificate to each of them. To date, SC.Net has a 193-strong membership. (Click here for full list of SC.Net Members). Around 100 new and current members were present together to celebrate. With the stronger networking power brought into play, social capital can be further enriched in Hong Kong.

MCs were two SC.Net members – Ms May Chan Suk-mei, Director, News & Public Affairs, Hong Kong Commercial Radio and Mr David Ho, Head of Radio 2, RTHK. Guest speakers included Mr Thomas Lo Sui-sing, Chief Operating Officer, RoadShow Holdings Limited (Culture and Media sector), Mr Tony Tai, General Manager of IBM China/Hong Kong Limited (Business sector) and Prof Tam Man-kwan, Supervisor of Pak Kau College (Education and Academic sector). They shared their memorable experiences for being SC.Net members and how they contributed to the development of social capital in their respective sectors.
Funded Project Introducing “Laughter Yoga”
12 “happy ambassadors” of the CIIF-funded project “Family Oasis-Happy Family Architect” run by Pok Oi Hospital Chan Ping Memorial Neighbourhood Elderly Centre performed "Laughter Yoga" and taught the SC.Net members three “laughing postures”. They also shared their experiences in enhancing self-reliance of project participants.
