CIIF approved 8 new projects
"Build a Caring Cross-generation Network"

The CIIF Committee has completed the assessment procedures and approved 8 new projects with an allocation of $12.7 million for the 20th batch of applications. Half of them echo with this batch's theme "Build a Caring Cross-generation Network”. Through active participation of different sectors, the CIIF believes that social capital can be enriched in Hong Kong. (Please click here for the list of the 20th batch of approved projects)

The 8 newly approved projects show unique features with innovative ideas. For example, there is a project aimed to promote collaboration among people with or without disabilities and cross-generation mutual help network through drama training and school tours. In collaboration with business partners, a project intends to forge cross-generation relationship by rejuvenating traditional games and toys. Mobilising retirees and teenagers to jointly organise historical tours of Kowloon City, a project is set to build a more caring community. Likewise, another project is launched to promote mutual help networks through a “Cross-generation Adventure Team” formed with the participation of youths and families in the community.

The CIIF Committee appreciates the applicants’ creativity and innovation to address the needs of different target groups and communities. The Committee envisages that the newly approved projects will achieve cross-generational integration. With mutual support networks forged through cross-sectoral collaboration in the community, a caring society will be built.

Since its establishment in 2002, CIIF has already funded 258 projects, including those approved in this batch, with a total cumulative allocation of $270 million granted or to be granted.

CIIF 21st batch of applications featuring the theme of "Nurturing Children for a Caring Future" will be opened for submission from 1 April 2013 until 5 p.m. on Friday, 31 May 2013. A briefing session will be held on Thursday, 25 April 2013 at Cultural Activities Hall, Shatin Town Hall.
