Project Objectives : The Project focused on low-income families in Sham Shui Po. With the strength generated from the cross-sectoral collaboration model, it fostered a favourable community environment to support the holistic development of children.


Critical Success Factor

The project has successfully networked 50 strategic collaborators and responded systematically to the needs of children in growth in six aspects, namely family atmosphere/emotion management, health and nutrition, not leaving children alone, safe home environment, social participation and growth development. Under the professional guidance of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the project can apply an effective intervention model and measure its effectiveness. In the study, both qualitative and quantitative research methods have been used for gauging the opinions of and the project’s impacts on the participants, volunteers and project co-ordinators. Study has found that the participants’ different dimensions of social capital were enriched. Besides, the project has brought about positive impacts at both individual and community level and the critical success factors of the development of social capital have been summarised.
