33 New SC.Net Members Join in Creating Social Capital
SC.Net Annual Gathering and Appointment Ceremony 2013 was successfully held on 25 January with around 100 new and current members present together to celebrate. Mr. Matthew Cheung, Secretary for Labour and Welfare welcomed 33 new members and presented the appointment certificate to each of them. To date, SC.Net has a 171-strong membership. We hope by leveraging on the members’ respective expertise, experience and networks, the public can better know and recognise the concepts of social capital, and actively take part in promoting social capital development.
Together we create
A fashion show collection outlining “CIIF” was displayed at the opening performance. The designs were made by middle-aged women and young local designers who were the participants of Pattern Market organised by Lok Kwan Social Service. Make up and styling were supported by Make Up Forever Academy (HK) managed by Juliana Yang, one of our SC.Net members. The performance showcased the power created from cross-generational interaction and cross-sectoral collaboration.
MCs were two “A”-grade SC.Net members - Apple Tse (right second) and Anthony Pang (left first). Soup and snack were provided by the project teams from HKSKH Lady MacLehose Centre and S.K.H. Holy Carpenter Church to SC.Net members and guests. A cozy and relaxing atmosphere therefore was generated.

At the brainstorming session, all members were invited to suggest ideas for CIIF’s promotion and development plan. Pleasant interaction between new and current members was achieved.
