Exploring New Collaboration by Solidifying Cross-Sectoral Ties
To provide a networking platform for CIIF-funded projects and potential collaborators from different sectors, the Community Investment and Inclusion Fund (CIIF) organised a “Cross-Sectoral Collaboration Meeting” on 12 May 2015 at Tamar Central Government Offices. About 100 guests from business corporates and project teams attended the meeting, with the gracious presence of CIIF Committee and SC.Net members offering valuable advice to the participants.
In his welcoming speech, Mr Andrew Kam, Chairman of CIIF Promotion and Development Sub-Committee said, “CIIF has been not only providing funding support to the social capital development projects but also enhancing proactive collaboration among different sectors, which creates synergy making a whole that is greater than the simple sum of one plus one.
Dr Ricky Szeto, Convenor of CIIF Brand-building Exercise Steering Group also shared some real stories of CIIF’s cross-sectoral projects to highlight the importance of joint efforts in pooling expertise and resources from different sectors to build social capital in the community, bringing long-term benefits to the society.
At the meeting, business corporates and project teams were divided into six sharing groups, namely “Children and Family”, “Youth”, “Elderly”, “Neighbourhood”, “Health” and The Others”, for which participants enjoyed a fruitful networking time and initial discussion on future collaboration was even kicked off.
Ms Carmen Ng, Secretary General of the CIIF Secretariat, concluded the meeting by thanking everyone for their attendance and encouraging more cross-sectoral collaboration in the near future to build social capital.
