CIIF approved 13 new projects with an allocation of $20 million

Build a Caring Network Nurture the New Generation

CIIF has received a total of 46 proposals for the 19th batch of applications. The CIIF Committee has completed the assessment procedures and approved 13 new projects with an allocation around $20 million. Eight out of the 13 newly approved projects echo with this batch's theme "Build a Caring Network Nurture the New Generation" with the objective of creating opportunities and social capital for youngsters by active participation of different sectors including the social welfare sector, business, schools, civic society and government departments. The 13 newly approved projects will be implemented in 10 different districts. The CIIF Committee appreciates the applicants' creativity and innovation to address the needs of different target groups and communities and their enthusiastic support for social capital building in Hong Kong. The Committee envisions that the newly approved projects will establish sustainable support networks among the youngsters to facilitate them to be their own master through cross-sectoral collaboration.

Since its establishment in 2002, the CIIF has already funded 251 projects, including those approved in this batch, with a total cumulative allocation granted and to be granted totalling $260 million.

The CIIF 20th batch of applications featuring the theme of "Build a Caring Cross-generation Network"will be opened for submission from 1 August 2011 and will be closed at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, 3 October 2012. All organisations and bodies are cordially invited to actively conceptualise effective and creative strategies for applications to be submitted to the CIIF Secretariat. Other proposals in line with the objectives and strategies of social capital development are also welcome.
