Research findings by the Department of Applied Social Sciences of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) indicate that CIIF-funded projects are effective in forging mutual trust and acceptance among people from different backgrounds, building neighbourhood support networks, turning assets of individuals into those of the community, and enhancing community capacity in Tin Shui Wai.

How does social capital development strategy effectively work? What insights can we gain from the Tin Shui Wai experience? CIIF is going to organise a seminar in collaboration with the Department of Applied Social Sciences, PolyU, which will invite stakeholders from different sectors to share their views on the effectiveness of using social capital development strategy in enhancing community capacity.
