“Ageing-in-place – The Programme for Building a Dementia-friendly Community” Platform Second Meeting

The Community Investment and Inclusion Fund (CIIF) convened the second meeting of the “Ageing-in-place – The Programme for Building a Dementia-friendly Community” Platform on 26 March 2026, attracting almost 40 participants from around 22 project teams. The Platform aims to develop and pass on the experience and knowledge of building social capital in Hong Kong through researching on different social capital development models and consolidating the past experience.

Dr Johannes POON Yin-kwong, member of the CIIF Committee, was invited to make a sharing themed “Know Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI)”, providing participants with a deeper insight into MCI and MCI patients. A representative from the project team implementing the CIIF funded project “Butterfly Age-friendly Network” also shared their project highlights and practical experience of cross sectoral collaboration through “Community-Welfare-Medical-School” collaborative model. Moreover, the CIIF Secretariat gave a detailed explanation of the similarities and differences between basic version and enhanced version of projects under “Ageing-in-place – The Programme for Building a Dementia-friendly Community”, and encouraged funded-project teams to leverage the synergy between medical and community sectors to meet community needs. Lastly, participants also engaged in group discussions and presentations based on the sharing content, focusing on the district features, project strategies and expectations for the development of the Platform.
