Some Dilemmas in the NetherlandsProfessor Paul Dekker is Professor at Tilburg School of Social and Behavioral Sciences, Tilburg University, the Netherlands, and Head of the Participation and Government research unit of the Netherlands Institute for Social Research | SCP. He is a specialist in civil society, public opinion and social participation. His co-edited book publications in the fields of civil society and social capital include Social capital and participation in everyday life (2001), The values of volunteering (2003), Civil society (2009), and Civicness in the governance and delivery of social services (2010). |

The Role of Social Capital in Fostering National ProsperityMr. Nathan Gamester is the Programme Director for the Prosperity Index at the London-based Legatum Institute (LI) where he leads the production of the Institute’s signature publication, the Legatum Prosperity Index™.
