Inviting 17th Batch Application – Open for Submission Soon Theme: Social Capital – Cross-sectoral Support Networks for the Carers   Theme Introduction: It has long been the CIIF approach to respond to the needs of the society in a timely and appropriate manner by applying the social capital strategy. The theme for this batch application focuses on “Care for Carers”. Whenever there is a family member with disability or chronic disease in need of long-term care, other members as the “carers” are always subject to great pressure. This will give rise to new needs from the whole family which will extremely require the support from the community and neighbours. With social capital built up, it can effectively help them relieve their pressure and achieve their potential. CIIF hopes that through the projects, it can strengthen the carers and also establish a “mutual help and support” network for both the carers and their families with a view to enhancing community support. CIIF cordially invites various stakeholders or organisations to actively draw up new and effective strategies and submit their proposals. Other proposals in line with the objective and strategy of social capital development are also welcome. Deadline of Submission: 5:00p.m., Thursday, 30 September 2010 Briefing Session on the application of proposals will be held in the afternoon of Monday, 16 August 2010. Interested stakeholders of all sectors including academics, organisations, self-help groups and the business sector are most welcome.
