CIIF -- The Chosen Partner |

I feel immensely
honoured to lead an extraordinary team with total
dedication on a laudable mission to build social
capital, through partnerships in the community that
create the necessary conditions to foster greater
social harmony.
Thanks to the devotion and efforts
of the late Dr Raymond Wu, 130 project teams and
their 3,000 collaborators have been chosen as the
CIIF partners and taken us thus far on a social
capital development journey. This journey is hugely
challenging but it is also tremendously rewarding
to keep these special people deeply involved. I
am proud to note that strong partnerships and neighbourhood-based
mutual help networks that form the real safety nets
of our communities have been set up in all districts
in Hong Kong. |
The journey ahead to build social capital, which involves
changing values, relationships and institutions, needs
to be sustained and brought to a new level. It is a daunting
task and more work needs to be done.
Herein lies the fascination of being part of the CIIF family. The team and I firmly believe that there are a thousand and one ways to skin a cat. When people stop to think and wait for ready-made solutions, our creativity will wither and our communities will stagnate. The CIIF firmly believes in the social capital outcomes it promotes, and looks for creativity for their achievement. We welcome entrepreneurial spirit, creative ideas and "think out of the box" proposals.
Resources are finite, but there is no bound to our potentials to learn, add and create values for our communities and achieve synergy from working with others.
Remarkable results are evident in each and every project, including a number of co-operatives with entrepreneurship generating wide-ranging social benefits. Shared ownership, sustainability, capacity for organic growth and the will to enhance in a sustainable manner are the key ingredients to further develop our social capital. CIIF provides a useful platform for those who share this mission. We look forward to seeing you becoming each other's chosen partner in the journey ahead.
